Solidaridad Tolupan Watintuma brings together Indigenous communities in Honduras to protect their lands, spirituality, cultural identity, and traditional ways of life. Rooted in Indigenous spirituality alongside Catholic and Evangelical traditions, the Cooperation Circle is united by a shared commitment to defending life, caring for Mother Earth, and strengthening Indigenous self-determination.
The group works to protect biodiversity, preserve Indigenous wisdom, and resist the erosion of cultural and spiritual identity. Its community-based efforts include defending natural resources, strengthening solidarity and communication among communities, promoting economic self-sufficiency, and supporting the wellbeing and rights of Indigenous peoples. The Cooperation Circle has successfully mobilized a collective action of neighboring communities to prevent heavy machinery from entering their territory for river exploitation, strengthening both environmental protection and collaboration.
With strong youth participation and representation from multiple Indigenous peoples, Solidaridad Tolupan Watintuma CC envisions resilient, self-sustaining, and equitable communities. Through URI, the group hopes to connect with Indigenous peoples and communities globally, share experiences and solutions, and build stronger collective advocacy for Indigenous rights, cultural dignity, and the protection of Mother Earth.
